Chicas de Promesa

Phyllis ministers to 4th - 6th grade at-risk girls in a ministry called Chicas de Promesa which means Girls of Promise. Chicas is an after school program that protects these girls from being home alone, at the market, the park, or on the street while their parents are still at work. If not supervised, these girls are at risk for possible abuse in the home, abuse on the street, kidnapping & dangers of human trafficking. Chicas creates a safe place for these girls while discipling them and teaching them who they are in Christ and how much Jesus loves them. Currently, there is one Chicas group that meets on Thursdays in a district on the outskirts of Lima. When Phyllis returns to Peru in 2025, she will start more Chicas groups. Please pray for women in Peru who can lead these new groups. God has a plan and purpose for the girls of Peru! 

Hosanna Christian Center

Phyllis joined the pastoral staff of a new church plant team in Lima called Hosanna Christian Center. This new work is reaching Lima's international community with the love of Jesus. At Hosanna, she is working in children's ministry, discipleship, and leading English conversation groups. In August 2024 Hosanna moved into a bigger space and has grown to over 50 people in attendance on Sunday morning! Phyllis is excited to return to Peru and the Hosanna family. She will focus on discipleship and will join the team in starting small groups.
