In a recent message to all AGWM missionaries, Greg and Sandie Mundis announced their intent to retire as executive director of Assemblies of God World Missions. AGWM has been enormously blessed by Greg and Sandie’s pastoral leadership and diligent stewardship of the global church planting mission for 2,640 missionaries serving 252 countries, territories, and provinces.
Greg will retire on September 30, 2023. His announcement at this early date will allow the AG Executive Leadership Team enough time to help our General Presbytery find and vet candidates for the position before August’s General Council.
Before Sandie and Greg served in an executive capacity, they were missionaries in the field. Their first global ministry assignment was in Austria where they planted Vienna Christian Center. Greg and Sandie later served as area director for Central Europe and the first regional director of the newly-created Europe region. Greg has served as executive director role since he and Sandie were elected in 2011.
In their note to all AGWM global workers, Greg and Sandie wrote, “We want to thank each of you for your service to the Lord, your sacrifice, and your selflessness to work in the world’s harvest fields. Our hearts are filled with gratitude as we reflect on your faithfulness and prayers for us over these past 12 years. It is truly humbling, and we have the deepest respect for you. Thank you for praying for the lost, the unreached, your colleagues, and the national church—and thank you for praying for Sandie and me.”
