CURRENT MINISTRY
Doug serves as the executive director of the Association for Pentecostal Theological Education in Africa (APTEA) which assists over 350 Assemblies of God Bible schools along with other Pentecostal training programs on the continent. While Africa is experiencing exponential growth, Doug and Corrine believe that training systems must be in place to make disciples grounded in Scripture and filled with the Spirit in order to conserve the harvest. The priorities of APTEA include helping schools receive endorsement and accreditation; enhancing teacher’s skills in the classroom; encouraging scholarly writing from Africa’s emerging Pentecostal educators and church leaders; and focusing Bible school education on completing the Great Commission by equipping students to go to the unreached people groups of Africa and beyond. The Lowenbergs are committed to proclaiming the gospel where it has not yet been heard and understood and discipling African men and women trained to minister as servant leaders, filled and guided by the Holy Spirit, grounded in the truths of Scripture, and empowered with an unstoppable commitment to reach the nations.
Doug serves with Pan-Africa Theological Seminary as the chairman of the Bible/Theology department which has campuses in Togo, Nigeria, and Tanzania. He also directs the Addis Graduate Studies, the graduate program of Addis Ababa Bible College. Corrine is the registrar of the program.
PREVIOUS MINISTRY
· Before moving to Africa, Doug served as a high school teacher, coach, and youth pastor. Corrine worked as an accountant stateside and as a short-term missionary in Europe. Together they ministered at North Central University as administrators and faculty members, and as church planters and pastors in Minnesota.
· The Lowenbergs have spent 25+ years serving in Burkina Faso, Togo, Kenya, and Ethiopia engaged in Muslim evangelism, Bible school training, and mission team leadership.
· They have two adult married daughters, Julia and Ruthie, both serving as career missionaries.
Your generous donations help vital Assemblies of God ministries and missionaries share the love of Jesus in cities and hometowns across the country, and throughout the world.
