About

Hi! My name is Beth Boven. Blues and greens are my favorite colors, I enjoy art and making crafty things, and I love learning about different people and cultures, and visiting new places. I also deeply love the Lord and the place He has called me to - the nation of Bolivia.

For most of my life, I have been involved in ministry to children in one way or another, such as serving in the nursery, as a Sunday School and VBS teacher, and even working as an Elementary Teacher. Now, God has opened the door for me to serve children in Bolivia who would otherwise be living in prison with their parents. Children who once had no hope, now have a bright future all because of Jesus and the people who have said, "Yes," to serving Him.

I am currently based in Cochabamba, Bolivia.  Nestled in the heart of a valley near the mountains of this city stands a place of HOPE. Cochabamba is a city where three children under the age of six that are abandoned daily, prisons are also full of children forced to live with their inmate parent because there is no other family to take care of them, and no other place for them to go. Many times these children have to sleep on the hard, cold concrete floors because there is no bed for them. Meals are not provided in the prison - unless you have money to pay for them, so these children often go hungry. Most do not even have warm clothes or blankets for the cold winter nights in the Andean Mountains of Bolivia. If all of this was not bad enough, quite often older children are randomly removed from the prison due to over crowding and forced to live on the streets - with no means to survive.

In the midst of these desperate situations, The Bolivian Hope Center was formed!

The Bolivian Hope Center (BHC) is a home where up to 40 children can live in a safe environment, with their own beds, education, medical care, no more food insecurity, and a whole lot of love and support. I am here to help meet the physical and spiritual needs of these kids, as well as other children in the community.

Every day, I seek to remind them of His love and his faithfulness, even in the midst of the tough situations so many of these kids have come out of. I’m here to love these kids, give them hope and help them see a future where they will know that “Though my father and mother abandon me, the Lord will take me in.” (Psalm 27:10)

I am so excited to be working with the team here in Bolivia, and daily letting each of these kids know how special they are to us and to the Lord. I’m so blessed to have this opportunity to share the love of God with the children of Bolivia.

Thank you so much for your prayers and support as I follow God's call on my life!
