Serving in Asia Pacific

We are Dave and Patti Schatzmann from Tulsa, Oklahoma. We met at Oral Roberts University and have been married for over three decades. We have three adult children and two sons-in-law. Dave has an accounting degree but has worked in I.T. for about 30 years. Patti’s degree was nursing, in which she has cared for pregnant, laboring, and post-partum women, as well as their babies, for 33 years.
Our vision is to bring healing and hope to the people in Micronesia. Due to various circumstances, the majority of these people have little to no hope in their lives, with many committing suicide in their early 20s. We want to change that by sharing with them the Good News of Jesus, so they will know the HOPE we have in Christ. While there, Dave wants to serve the people so their hearts may be softened and opened to the message of hope, necessitating the planting of churches where God’s word will be preached. Patti wants to use her medical knowledge and experience to serve the sick and fulfill her life-long vision of delivering babies in remote areas. To achieve these goals, we will be working alongside a veteran missionary focusing on not only medical care and health education, but also community development. That would include clean water solutions, after school youth programs, and ultimately the expansion of the Church by building medical clinics in areas where there are currently none.
Our plan is to go as soon as we have 100% funding and required training completed. We will serve an initial two year term primarily focused on learning the language and culture within our new ministry context. From there, we will see where God leads.
1. Praying that God will cause our hearts to yearn for the people of Micronesia. Pray they are open to the message of Hope in Jesus as well as healing. Please pray that God will help us with all the steps necessary in preparing to leave the U.S. Please consider praying for us on a regular basis; ask God if you should invest in our ministry this way.
2. Partnering with us financially on a monthly basis or with a one-time gift toward our one-time cash budget. Without these gifts, we will not be able to go.
3. Consider GOING on missions yourself! There is a LOT of work yet to be done in many, many places, and so many unreached people still waiting for someone to come to them to share the BEST NEWS ever about a life and hope in Jesus.
Your generous donations help vital Assemblies of God ministries and missionaries share the love of Jesus in cities and hometowns across the country, and throughout the world.
